[StarCluster] building an ami corrupts the original reference machine?

Thanks for the response.

I did some further experiments, and it looks like 0.95.6 clears out "/root"
before it builds the ami, whereas
0.93.3 did not.  I'll try creating the ami through the AWS console as a
work-around.
