[StarCluster] Starcluster Ubuntu 14.04 AMI's

Hi John:

The 12.04 and 10.04 AMIs are still 'current' (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases), although 10.04 is EOL next Spring, in case you didn't know, and would probably be a faster 'time to production' than building out the 14.04.

But if you actually need 14.04 for some reason, I've worked through the upgrade process with success. qmon works fine (StarCluster uses OGS, not SGE, which might help you), too, I just tested (I never use it though). Obviously, YMMV and all that. It's not been extensively tested, etc.

Let me know if you would like a peek at my preliminary 12.04 > 14.04 upgrade .txt file.

SGE qmon does not work on Ubuntu 14.04 - at least it did not work a couple of months ago. Here is a link to the open issue:

Other SGE components install, yet I could not test them since I use the qmon graphic user interface to configure.

If SGE is not stable, then I am unsure about starcluster that uses SGE. If anyone had success with this please do give tips to others.
