[StarCluster] Star cluster installation

Hi,

This is the first time  i am trying to install starcluster on a RHEL5.5
image. I got the message saying install python 2.5+

I installed python .Checked
[root at ip-10-116-202-67 ~]# python -V
Python 2.5.2

easy_install Starcluster is giving me the below message
[root at ip-10-116-202-67 ~]# sudo easy_install Starcluster

ERROR: StarCluster requires Python 2.5+ ... exiting.
error: Setup script exited with 1

I tried them manual steps also

$ tar xvzf StarCluster-XXX.tar.gz
$ cd StarCluster-XXX
$ sudo python distribute_setup.py
$ sudo python setup.py install


Still getting the python error.

Do i need to set some environment variables.

Please help
