positions with the EPA (the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency)<br><br>
</b>The EIP<b> </b>is a full-time, professional, entry-level employment
and career development program sponsored by the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency. Since our inaugural class in 1998, we have hired
192 new professionals and placed them in our Washington, DC headquarters
and eleven regional offices. This program is for potential
applicants who already have earned a college degree or are expecting to
receive one no later than August, 2004<br><br>
Our search for the EIP Class of 2004 will be open March 29- April 9,
2004, at EPA's EZhire website,

or at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management's website at <a href="http://www.usajobs.opm.gov/" eudora="autourl">www.usajobs.opm.gov</a>. Applications are to be completed on-line with supplemental materials mailed to the addresses noted in the application packages.<br><br>
For 2004, we plan to hire approximately forty-five (45) Interns as entry-level, professional Environmental Protection Specialists (GS-7), Environmental Scientists (GS-7 or 9), and Biologists (GS-7 or 9). Applicants can qualify for the EIP with a minimum of a bachelors degree or relevant work experience. These are professional, career positions not summer or temporary student jobs.<br><br>
We are seeking candidates with **Leadership potential and teamwork skills; **Good citizenship and a commitment to a career in public service; **Interest in environmental issues; **Solid communication skills; **Academic accomplishment and/or relevant work experience; **U.S. citizenship<br><br>
Work experience and academic majors may include, but are not limited to: Biological Sciences and Ecology, Business Administration/Management, Chemistry and Physical Sciences, Computer Science, Environmental Engineering, environmental Studies, Financial Management, International Studies, Public and Environmental Policy, or Public Administration<br><br>
Because of a general hiring freeze at the EPA (budget cuts), this is one of the rare opportunities to get into the EPA !!<br><br>
