of Professor Merritt Roe Smith. The symposium invited ideas about new interpretative approaches to the field and thoughts about neglected research topics in need of attention. It encouraged open-ended discussion to prompt fresh thinking about the field and
add to the momentum it has already achieved.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">We are now happy to present the

In addition, the website contains an interview with Roe Smith conducted by HASTS graduate student Kelcey Gibbons (who also created the website). The interview is followed by video lectures on the history of MIT that were originally filmed for the MIT OpenCourseWare
initiative.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
