Dear MIT Colleagues,

It's that time of year again! We are now recruiting for the 2006-07
Science & Technology Policy Fellowships, which begin in September
2006. Applications are due by 10 January 2006. We ask your assistance in
distributing the call for applications. The text appears below and is
also attached to send to your departments and networks.

We recently restructured the fellowship operations from a predominantly
agency focus (ten fellowship programs) to a program area focus (six
fellowship programs). The program areas are thematic umbrellas under
which we designate placement opportunities (hosting agencies and
offices), some of which can cross over program areas. Attached is a
document summarizing the six program areas and the placement
opportunities in each. You can also find details on the updated AAAS
Fellowships website at
http://fellowships.aaas.org.

In addition, we're pleased to announce that we've launched our new online
application system, which can be viewed at:
http://fellowshipapp.aaas.org.

If you have any questions about the Science & Technology Policy
Fellowships, please contact our new manager of Communications &
Marketing, Brianne Miers. You can reach Brianne at x6481 or at
bmiers@aaas.org. We'll be happy to
provide you with flyers and other outreach materials if you'd like to
take them to meetings, presentations, or conferences. FYI, we will be
exhibiting at several upcoming conferences, including Neuroscience, SETAC
(Society for Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry) and AGU (American
Geophysical Union).

There will also be an information session organized through the MIT
Careers Office with former Fellows on the MIT campus at the end of
November - keep your eyes and ears open for the details!

We appreciate your help spreading the word!

Best regards,
Cori Garrett-Goodyear
