Whilst I understand the modularity in the course overall, and how an 'old hand' might skill up on the new stuff by trying to cherry pick what's new, I feel it's a pity that SAP have not envisaged a 'refresher' version.<BR>
<BR>
Furthermore I've had a look at the SAP UK Training offerings and none of these courses are regulalrly scheduled. Or, if they are, they're only available as remote courses...which is a pity given that the best way to learn this stuff is through collaboration. Yet again I feel they're under-investing in this area.<BR>
<BR>
Personally speaking, I think they're missing a trick here. In my experience Workflow isn't something that poeple set out to do when they start their professional careers working with SAP software. Instead it's a skillset that people fall into out of necessity or opportunity, typically because a client/employer needs a Business Process to be modelled. <BR>
<BR>
Once budding Workflor developers have grasped its capabilities the learning curve feels a lot like a foreign language: the nuances of what it can do are seductive and pull you in the more you invest in experimenting and exploring. And with any language, if you don't keep it up you end up losing your edge to the point where your ability to communicate deteriorates.<BR>
<BR>
For those of us who have 'grown up' with Workflow days some habits die hard and some ways of thinking need to be adjusted from 'old' ways to 'new' whilst keeping true to the OO nature of what Workflow is all about. For those being introduced to Workflow for the first time there are 'old' tricks and tips that are still relevant and the heritage of Workflow is still worth explaining because BOR will still be knocking around when they're thrown into the job market.<BR>

What I was hoping for was some sort of bridge course which would seek to explain the introduction of ABAP-OO principles, the ECC 6 additions (XML Container, Persistence Profiles, Local Workflows, Blocks, the retirement of LOOP WHILE, etc), the new Workflow Service jobs (Condition Evaluation, revised Deadline Monitoring using the CL_SWF_RUN_SWWWIDH_QUEUE ABAP Class), the new Event Linkage mechanism with Object Category built in. Thsoe sort of things...<BR>
<BR>
So much changed as part of that watershed upgrade it deserves a much better transition course than this...and sadly this course simply doesn't cut it I'm afraid.<BR>
