I re-read your email more closely and, as far as I know, there is no way to interrupt the behavior of a transaction from workflow. The only other option would be to select the "Confirm end of processing" checkbox on the task definition. This will force the user to take a second action to leave the task, if he really wants to end the task. If he selects "Cancel" (red X ) the work item will remain in his inbox.<BR>
