SWNCONFIG is to do with Extended Notifiactions, the latest RSWUWFML2 kinda thing. The SAP help is here:

It appeared to me, when I was implementing PCR's that it was a more functional version of RSWUWFML2. The help does say executable attachments to 'execute a WI directly'. I think the bottomline is that the email will contain a URL that can be executed. The URL takes you to the UWL, A SAP Inbox, or to an Application in a browser window. For this last option you probably need the SWFVISU entry, ie as for TS50000075.

When I looked at it, I initially thought, the WI was delivered to Outlook and executable there. I now think its more like Outlook receives an email with a link to something else, ie a 2 or 3 step process not the 1 step process it intially appeared to be.
I am trying to figure out how to approve a PCR from the Portal through an email. I've read this little piece from the documentation, but can't help but think that there is more to it than just that.

------------
You can use your e-mail inbox for approving requests instead of the UWL. As approver, you receive an e-mail with a link to the form. To do this, call transaction SWNCONFIG(or in the SAP Customizing Implementation Guide (IMG), choose SAP NetWeaver $B"*(BSAP Web Application Server $B"*(B Business Management $B"*(B SAP Business Workflow $B"*(BNotifications $B"*(B Configuration of Extended Notification): Under General Settings, enter the Web Dynpro server as the WD_HOST. For e-mail notifications, you must also call transaction SWFVISU.
------------

Is there anything that needs to be done to the Workitem itself in order to process this? Has anyone done this and experienced any 'gotchas?' We're thinking of implementing this but want to consider the work involved.
