<div>It's an application/functional question as to whether it's possible to allow a batch user to make changes without the need for re-release, i.e. without the document becoming blocked - I doubt it. </div>

<div>What is possible though is that you can determine in WF if the changing agent was dialog or batch and in the case of batch perform an automatic release. This way there is no need for user involvement, and you don't need to try and do anything fancy with your release proceedures.

I just finished implementing a WF for approval of loan contracts in the CML module in SAP banking. The customer had special needs regarding this and therefore the standard workflow was not sufficient. </font><br><br><font face="sans-serif" size="2">
However, we are facing a new problem regarding this. A batch-input program will update the contracts after they have been released, and this triggers a new release process for the particular contracts. So my question is: Is it possible to change the setup of the WF (or do some customizing for the business object) so that the relase process starts only if dialog users change the contract. We would like to allow the batch input user to change the contract without triggering a new release procedure.
