<DIV><FONT color=#0000ff face=Arial size=2><SPAN class=780180507-09082000>The
buffer is refreshed automatically every night so there is no need for your CM
to manually refresh. Refreshing the buffer each time a change is made will
affect the performance of your system so it makes little sense to do this.
</SPAN></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=#0000ff face=Arial size=2><SPAN class=780180507-09082000>This
is different in the development systems where performance is not an issue.
That is why the refresh is done in development/test transactions such as
SWUS (manually) or SWUD (automatically). There's nothing to stop you using
this feature in the production system in urgent cases.</SPAN></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=#0000ff face=Arial size=2><SPAN class=780180507-09082000>In
my opinion you are better off investing your time in a FAQ for your intranet
site in which you explain that HR changes will take effect the next
day.</SPAN></FONT></DIV>

environment for Workflow<BR><BR></FONT></DIV>
<P><FONT face=Arial size=2>Currently we have a CM (Configuration Manager) who
manages changes to the Organizational Plan used by Workflow. From what I
understand Workflow buffers the Organizational Plan for performance
reasons. Whenever the CM makes a change to the Organizational Plan, we
have him refresh the Organizational Plan for Workflow (tran SWUS, "Refresh
organizational environment" button on Function Bar) to ensure that Workflow
picks up the latest information. We told the CM to make changes to the
Organizational Plan and refresh the Organizational Plan for Workflow when
there is minimal system activity (i.e. at the end of the day) so that the
chances of Workflow using the old Organizational Plan between the change and
the refresh execution is minimized.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Arial size=2>A while back on the MIT SAP Users e-mail list I saw
a message which said that you can make entries in table T779X to specify that
workflow event should be generated or a function module should be called when
a PA (personnel admin) or PD (org and training/event mgmt) update takes
place. The "Refresh organizational environment" basically calls the
function module RH_INBOX_VIEW_BUFFER_REFRESH.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Arial size=2>Can I (and would it make sense) to make an entry in
this T779X table to automatically call this function module whenever the CM
makes a change to the Organizational Plan, thus eliminating a step for him and
the possibility of him forgetting to refresh the Organizational Plan for
Workflow? If the answer is "yes" to both, does anyone know what would be
my entries in the T779X table?</FONT></P><BR>
<P><FONT face=Arial size=2>Thanks,</FONT> <BR><FONT face=Arial
