BOR vs ABAP OO

I firmly believe/hope that they will continue to support BOR for as long as they continue to support ABAP. How long they will do so is anyone's guess I think. It's nice to hear that some BOR development is still going on, but that the last time I was in Walldorf it was Java echoing down the corridors not ABAP.

Having said that I can thoroughly recommend the ABAP OO courses, they were by far the most interesting I've ever sat though and subsequently taught (even if I did do them a bit late having cut my teeth on ALV stuff by then).

Any knowledge of ABAP OO helps hugely in understanding the leap from the 'old' BOR version of Workflow and the 'new' LPOR polymorphic version, as well as well as helping you in general deal with BAdIs and some of the newer code.

It would be money well spent if you did decide to invest :)

They may not develop as much stuff for the BOR. So you may find yourself not being able to access new functionality as easily as you used to.
