Introduction of error handling for Method POST, business object FIPP

Hello all,
 
I am after some tips on how best to report that the posting of an FI
document has failed. The task I am looking at is standard task TS00008142.
I want to use the element POSTED in the task container as the indicator of
a posting failure but am unsure on where to start. Any advice would be
appreciated.
