Substitutes in workflow

Hello,
 
  As far as I know this relation are not transparent, i.e.
 if  A -> B and B -> C then  it doesnot follow that  A -> C.
 
 
  This is our experiences, I did not read this statement in the
documentation ....
 
Our solution is quite simple, we enter manually A->C relation.

I have a question about substitution in workflow.
 
Imagine the situation:
1. UserA substitute UserB
2. UserB substitute UserC
 
Question: Document received by UserA appear in UserC inbox ? if not anybody
have a idea how resolve this situation ?

OBS: How can workflow administrator know if user receive a workitem by
substituation function ? ( SWI5 transaction and SWW_WI_AGENTS_READ function
