Dear Purple Blurbers,

I'm back from a productive, teaching-free, Purple-Blurb-free semester. A
nice change, but I've missed the reading series (and even teaching). I'm
enjoying bring around at MIT now and am looking forward to another great
semester of Purple Blurb presentations dealing with digital writing.

Events are set for: MARCH 8 - MARCH 31 - MAY 7.

They are all at MIT, and are held in collaboration with the deCordova
Museum, the CMS Colloquium series, and the Boston Cyberarts Festival.

I suppose if I were to give this semester's Purple Blurb series a title,
it would have to be something like "Junctions: Adding together
Difference." We have three joint programs that take place at different
times on different days of the week and in two different rooms. And for
whatever reason, every event's title has a colon.

We also have a really incredible lineup of diverse programs: A
discussion (organized jointly with the deCordova Museum) by five leading
thinkers with incisive perspectives on computing and the arts, visual
and literary; a presentation (jointly with the CMS Colloquium) of an
intriguing work that combines digital media and the book arts to bridge
realities; and a trio of presentations, followed by discussion, thanks
to three makers of adventure games and electronic literature -- this
last one part of the Boston Cyberarts Festival.

Again, all events are at MIT; as always, they are free and open to the
public.

Details are below. I hope to see you at this semester's events.

   -Nick
