the Science Image.

In this visually rich presentation Frankel
provides deep background on the creation of scientific images and how
they are used in major journals such as Nature and
Science for covers and internal pages. She shows many
examples of recent journal covers and discusses how beautiful imagery
can be used to convey complex scientific and technological
information.

Note to our viewers: With this addition, MIT World will
take a brief hiatus. The web-weary editorial staff is taking a
vacation, as not much happens lecture-wise in August. The web
development team, however will be doing some site maintenance and some
further enhancements to the new site and can best do that without
having to dodge the editorial changes along the way. With more
than 130 videos to watch, we encourage you to catch up on some that
you missed. Rest assured we'll be back in mid-September for the
start of our third year with new video material including 3 great
lectures from Sloan Faculty from the "Back to the Classroom"
series, and well as a new lecture from Steven Pinker as part of a
School of Science series on the state of neuroscience. On behalf
of everyone here at MIT World, we again thank you for your suggestions
and feedback on the new site.

See you in September!
