<DIV></DIV>>region. Hassan Abbas, a former officer in the Pakistani Police, is
<DIV></DIV>>currently a research fellow at the Harvard Law School and a PhD.
<DIV></DIV>>candidate at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. He routinely
<DIV></DIV>>contributes to leading Pakistani and US newspapers and is a commentator
<DIV></DIV>>on South Asian issues at MSNBC. His forthcoming book: "Pakistan's Drift
<DIV></DIV>>into Extremism: Allah, the Army and America's War on Terror" (August
<DIV></DIV>>2004) details the sectarian conflict in Pakistan.
