*The Path to FULL EMPLOYMENT
Thursday, February 24th
4:30–6:00 pm
*MIT E14-633 (in the MIT Media Lab Complex)
75 Amherst Street
Cambridge, MA

Full Employment was once a policy goal in the United States for both sides
of the aisle. But the idea of putting all people to work has been put aside
for decades. Today the global economy continues to reel from the financial
and housing crises, and unemployment remains rampant in the United States.
What is the solution? How do we get back on the path?

Economist *Robert Pollin*, AFL-CIO chief economist *Ron Blackwell*, and MIT
Professors *David Autor* and *Thomas Kochan*, revive the critical but
long-dormant debate. Moderated by MIT Political Science Chair Richard Locke,
and based on the Forum feature in the Jan/Feb issue of *Boston
Review*<http://www.bostonreview.net/BR36.1/ndf_employment.php>
.

This event is free and open to the public, and the discussion will be
followed by a Q&A with the audience. "The Path to Full Employment" is part
of the *Ideas Matter* lecture series, co-sponsored by *Boston Review* and
the MIT Political Science Department. For more information, visit
