Greetings all,
I hope your Orientation season has been going well!

We have been hearing requests from our campus partners to learn more about
how to adequately and appropriately respond to survivors of sexual violence.
Our work with students and the special relationships each of us builds makes
it likely that we might be people that a student will feel comfortable
sharing personal information with--perhaps even for the first time. In light
of this, the VPR program has been working to bring trainers from the Boston
Area Rape Crisis Center to campus for a presentation on how to best handle
these situations. When survivors disclose, what should you know? What should
you say? What can you do? These and more questions will be answered in this
presentation.

The presentation will be held on Friday afternoon, September 24th in W20,
PDR 1&2, from 2-4pm. Refreshments will be served. A flyer is attached -
please feel free to share this event with others who you think may benefit
from this information. All are welcome, but we request an RSVP for the sake
of preparing food. If you have any questions or would like to RSVP, please
contact me at baker at med.mit.edu or 3-5770.

Have a great day and we hope to see you on the 24th.

Best,
-Greg.
