<div>The objective of the MIT Innovation Initiative (to be formally launched in October) is to provide enhanced programming, resources and support for MIT community members to turn research and ideas into impactful applications. Over the past few months we
have heard that many post-docs desire increased educational and career development opportunities related to innovation and entrepreneurship. While larger programmatic announcements are forthcoming, in response to this demand we are hosting an ‘MIT Post-doc/EMBA
Innovation Teams Weekend’ event September 6-7. In addition, <u>if there is sufficient interest</u> we will host an Introduction to Entrepreneurial Strategy Workshop for post-docs in the week preceding the event.</div>

<div>The weekend event will bring together post-docs and EMBAs from the entire MIT community to build bridges across campus for idea-generation and to foster social networks that could improve our ability to bring ideas to impact.</div>

<div><b>The event will focus on the evaluation of new ideas for “Innovation-driven enterprises” (IDEs).</b> IDEs encompass not only new technologies but also innovations in process, business models, and more. Participants are encouraged to pitch ideas they
have not previously explored. Both EMBAs and post-docs may pitch ideas. Teams interested in pursuing their ideas after the weekend are highly encouraged to do so.</div>
