<div>The American Academy of Arts and Sciences is calling for
nominations for it 2008-09 Post-Doctoral and Junior Faculty Fellowship
Program. The Visiting Scholars Program (VSP) at the
interdisciplinary research institute is to stimulate and support
research by promising scholars in the early stages of their careers.
The Academy conducts the VSP in association with the Harvard
Humanities Center which provides access to the university's research
facilities and helps plan lectures, seminars and informal
discussions.</div>

<div><b>Preference is given to untenured junior faculty, but the
program is open to qualified postdocs.</b> Candidiates must be
US citizens, permanent residents or current employees of an
academic or professional organization in the US. A PhD, JD or
equivalent professional training should have been completed in the
past 10 years.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Postdocs receive an annual stipend of $40,000; faculty receive
$60,000 (NOT to exceed 1/2 of current salary). The duration of
the fellowship is September-May. The Academy provides office
space, computer services, and library privileges.</div>

<div>Research areas include: <b> Science and Global
Security</b>,<b> Social Policy and American Institutions,
