Personal Life is pleased to announce our upcoming seminar entitled,
"Advocating for Children with Special Needs," led by Barbara
Popper,<font color="#000000"> M.Ed., Director, Family Voices Project
and a Resource Specialist with the Federation for Children with
Special Needs.</font></font></div>

<div><font face="Arial" size="-1"><u>Seminar
Description</u></font></div>
<div><font face="Arial" size="-1">When is it important to speak up on
behalf of your special needs child-and when not? What is the role of
parents in communicating with schools, health care providers, and
other service providers? How can parents and families get support for
the hard work involved in advocating for a special needs child? Are
there resources to help with challenging feelings like isolation,
guilt, frustration, and helplessness? This workshop is designed to
help parents and families learn how to be effective partners with
their child's service providers and how to get support for
themselves in the process. Note: Members of the MIT community are in
the process of organizing a peer-led support group for families of
special needs children. Details about the group will be provided at
