(http://www.bikeandbuild.org/). Bike and Build is a great opportunity to
see the country and contribute to a good cause, "pedaling to end poverty
housing." It's awesome.

I'd like to invite you to a Bike and Build info session tomorrow night,
Tuesday, November 28, 2006, at 7:05pm in 1-150. Pasta, Gatorade, and
peanut butter and jelly sandwiches will be served (you'll find out why).

*What are you doing this summer?*
If you want to travel, be active outdoors, meet new people, build homes,
and help raise awareness about the affordable housing problem, you
should spend your summer with Bike & Build. Bike & Build events are
cross-country cycling tours which raise funds for affordable housing
groups and help educate and involve communities in affordable housing
efforts across the nation. We're organizing six tours this summer, and
we're looking for young adults like you who want to be active, make a
difference, and have the best summer of their lives. We also have trip
leadership positions available.

*Choose from six sifferent routes:*
-Central U.S. (Virginia Beach, VA on May 19 – Cannon Beach, OR on July 24)
-Northern U.S. (Portsmouth, NH on June 17 - Vancouver, BC on August 21)
-Providence to Seattle (Providence, RI on June 8 - Seattle, WA on August
12)
-Providence to San Francisco (Providence, RI on June 11 - San Francisco,
CA on August 15)
-Southern U.S. (Jacksonville, FL on June 17 - San Francisco, CA on
August 17)
-North Carolina to San Diego (Manteo, NC on May 25 - San Diego, CA on
July 25)

(Please note that the Central U.S. and North Carolina to San Diego rides
leave before the last day of finals at MIT.)

Each of our trips offers a beautiful route, visits national parks and
other attractions, and has several dedicated Build Days, where you'll
spend the day building a home with local affordable housing groups. The
Southern trip spends a week rebuilding homes in sections of Louisiana
destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Check out our entire route network and
see which tour appeals to you.

*What are the trips like?*
Check out our online photos and FAQ for more info on what to expect.
Also, read through past journal entries to get a feel for life on the
road. I was a trip leader on the Providence-Seattle ride last year, so
as an alum of the trip, and an MIT student, I'd be happy to answer any
questions you might have about Bike and Build. Head over to
