<p style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="COLOR: black">Taught by MVHFH building director, Emerson Dahmen, and long time volunteer, Tom Baird, this class will provide you with the all the knowledge you need to know to install siding on your own house.
<span>&nbsp; </span>Learn how to set-up a level starter course, install corners, and work around windows and doors. <span>&nbsp;</span><span>&nbsp;</span>Vinyl is final only if it is installed correctly.<span>&nbsp; </span>Come learn how to install it right.
<span>&nbsp; </span>After class, participants will have the rest of the day to put their new knowledge to work by helping us install the vinyl siding on one of our homes. </span></p>

<p style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><span>Start volunteering with Habitat the right way!<span>&nbsp; </span>Learn how to properly and safely use the essential hand and power tools. <span>&nbsp;</span>Do you know how to hold a hammer properly for maximum performance or what all the different speeds on a screw gun are for?? 
<span>&nbsp;</span>Come learn all the tricks of the trade. We'll also be focusing on how to safely use the following power tools:<span>&nbsp; </span>circular saw, reciprocating saw, chop saw, table saw. <span>&nbsp;</span>Participants will have the chance to practice and become comfortable with each tool.
<span>&nbsp; </span>This class will be taught by MVHFH Construction Assistant, Lyndsay Hazen and MVHFH Homeowner, Ruth Reyes.<span>&nbsp; </span></span></p>

<p style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><span>Learn how to measure roof pitch and use&nbsp;<span>the formulas on the </span>speed square<span> </span>to calculate the rafter dimensions.<span>&nbsp; </span>Learn the trick to making an accurate seat cut and how to identify how much overhang is required.&nbsp;
<span> </span>The test will be of course, if our rafter fits??<span>&nbsp; </span>After the demonstration, participants will break into small groups to practice making their own rafter layout. </span></p>
