that two deadlines are approaching regarding the Public Service
Center's first Service Boot Camp. <br>

1. <u><b>Register by September 13</b></u> to guarantee your spot

Note that if you want to send more than two representatives from
your group, you may now do so.<br>
2. Please<u><b> return group descriptions to me by September 14</b></u>
if you want your group's information included in the information
packet that will be distributed to attendees. As a refresher, you
should include the following information:<br>
<ul>
<li>Name of organization</li>
<li>Contact information for executive/coordinator board (e-mail
and/or phone)</li>
<li>Organization description </li>
<ul>
<li>What does your group do? What community will benefit? Why is
there a need for the project?</li>
<li>Does your group need people with particular skills?</li>
<li>Are there upcoming events that students could attend to get
a
feel for the organization?</li>
<li>How can a student become involved right now?</li>
</ul>

<b>D) Finding all of the above at the PSC’s Service Boot Camp!

Whether you've been leading a service group for years or just
assumed an exec position this week, the Public Service Center’s
inaugural Service Boot Camp will help you kick off your service
goals for the 2010-2011 school year with a fun, interactive series
of breakout sessions and workshops. Throughout the day, you’ll
hear tips and tricks for finding resources around MIT, mingle with
other service-minded students, enjoy some delicious free food, and
learn how to position yourself and your service projects for
lasting success.<br>
<br>
<u><b>In summary:</b></u><br>
Who: You and ~90 other service-minded students<br>
What: PSC Service Boot Camp<br>
When: Sunday, September 19, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.<br>
Where: Stata Center (Building 32) - R&D Commons and classrooms
<br>
Why: To develop new ideas into service projects and strengthen
existing service groups<br>
<br>
<b>RSVPs are due by September 13 and will be accepted on a
first-come, first-serve basis. </b>(Note that if multiple
representatives of your group want to attend, the first two are
guaranteed a spot if they are among the first 90-100 to fill out
the form. Any further representatives will be placed on the
waitlist to allow other groups the chance to benefit from the Boot
Camp. People on the waitlist will be notified as spots open up.)
