Dear Student Group Leaders,

I'm sure most of you have heard of The Giving Tree, the annual
community
service project sponsored by Panhel and the Public Service Center.
This
year, we would like to run this project a little differently.
Instead
of having individuals pick up labels for gifts directly from the
PSC,
we are going to be asking student groups to be responsible for
distributing
the labels from one of the fifteen agencies that we support.

Each agency will be requesting 50 gifts, so we can put several
student
groups together depending on the size and interest level.

For you, all this would require would be to distribute the labels
among
your members and arrange a place to collect the gifts.
Alternatively,
you could collect money from your group and send out a few people to
buy
all of the gifts. The agencies will arrange to pick them up from
you.

This is an excellent way to get your members involved in Community
Service and makes a great end of the term activity! Many
students
already participate in the Giving Tree, but we feel that this way
you
will have a closer contact with the agency you are providing gifts
for.

If you are interested, please e-mail me back with your group name,
a
contact person and the number of gifts you think you can
provide by November 12. Thank
you!
