I've been using it for a couple of months and have been mostly satisfied.

-Teddy

On Wed, Sep 23, 2015 at 11:37 PM, Richard Edelson <redelson@mit.edu> wrote:

Thanks. 365 also does rolling deployments of new features among tenants so it's a bit of a moving target. One thing to note, the 365 version uses your 365 account to maintain activation and is limited to five devices per account. The volume license version
uses MIT's KMS servers for licensing and does not impose a limit.

I just tried to download through MIT's Office 365 and I'm still getting Office 2013 :( According to something I found on the Microsoft website, it appears Office 365 for Education won't be seeing it till Q1 2016:

(What's interesting is that I was able to successfully install the preview several months back on a VM and activate off of MIT's O365 by signing in... oh well)
It does, however, look like MIT could opt into a faster update branch Microsoft is labeling "First Release" to allow for pilot users to get it ahead of their business release schedule:

You can get it from Office 365 now, otherwise Microsoft is making the volume license version available starting October 1st and we will have it available within a few days of that.
