In preparation, the Yosemite Release Team has been conducting pre-release tests of applications in use at MIT under a Mac OS X 10.10 environment.</span></div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""><span class=""><b class="">Before you upgrade to Yosemite:</b></span></div></span></div><div class=""><ul class=""><li class="">Before performing any upgrade, always back up your computer using <a href="http://ist.mit.edu/crashplan/mac/recommended" class="">Crashplan</a> or the backup system provided by your local IT support provider (local Time Machine backup, etc.).</li><li class="">Check the <a href="http://kb.mit.edu/confluence/x/p4EwCQ" class="">Yosemite Known Issues Page</a> in the IS&T Knowledge Base for software compatibility. Staff should check with their department’s IT support provider to determine when to upgrade. </li><li class="">MIT-owned machines should be upgraded using the stand-alone installer on the IS&T software grid. IS&T will make this installer available once it is received from Apple.
