If you're looking for true security, unfortunately I you have to go with the full version of Apple Remote Desktop from Apple. This will allow you to lock the remote screen while viewing/controlling it. I believe there are different options with Lion, but have

<div>What I've used many times for customers though is a free preference pane called "Shades" from Charcoal Design: <a href="http://www.charcoaldesign.co.uk/shades">http://www.charcoaldesign.co.uk/shades</a></div>
<div>It allows you to dim the screen to be completely black, but of course, only at the remote machine for this example. This way when you connect to your mac remotely, the first thing to do is bring brightness down to 0%. This will make the remote screen be
completely black at the desk, but since you're not affected by the remote displays brightness, you will see the screen normally, allowing full remote control. You just need to remember to bring brightness back to normal before logging off, or use a key sequence
to return it to normal when sitting back at the remote computer.</div>

TightVNC works best imho. <a href="http://www.tightvnc.com">http://www.tightvnc.com</a> I have not had much success with others. There are plenty on the Mac side though if you want an alternative to ScreenSharing or ARD.</div>
