3. What's New:
---------------------------
The latest support information for Intel-based Macintoshes, including the
status of IS&T-supported applications, is available from IS&T's "Intel-based
Macintosh Support at MIT" page:

	<http://web.mit.edu/ist/topics/macos/intel.html>.

This page will be updated as vendors release information about their plans
for supporting Intel-based Macs.

IS&T has revised the VirusScan Enterprise 8.0i with patch 11 installer to
address installation issues some Dell systems have encountered. The
following machines are known to encounter this issue:
* Dell D620 laptop
* Dell Latitude D820
* Dell Precision M65
* Dell Precision M90

Dell Systems that have Wave Embassy Trust Suite, which includes Document
Manager installed, are known to cause issues during installation. The
installer has been revised to include a check point which notifies the user
their machine has the suite running. If detected, the user will need
to uninstall prior to installing VirusScan.

To obtain VirusScan Enterprise 8.0i visit the Software download page:
	<http://web.mit.edu/software/win.html>

4. Volume & Site License Software Update
--------------------------------------------------------------
FileMaker, Inc. has released FileMaker version 8.5. MIT expects to receive
the volume media and license keys in the next few weeks. As soon as we have
the software from FileMaker we will update our order forms and send email to
the FileMaker User Group and IT, Mac and Win Partners letting the community
know we are ready to accept and process orders for FileMaker version 8.5.

Please visit http://web.mit.edu/ist/products/vsls/ for the latest
availability information on FileMaker and other volume and site licensed
products.

5. Windows Automatic Update Service (WAUS)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
We recommend users configure their Windows machines to use MIT's Windows
Automatic Update Service (WAUS) for critical patches and service pack
deployment.

WSUS is here. MIT WAUS now deploys updates for Microsoft Office
products.Check the Approved Updates page for details regarding deployed
packages. WSUS also adds support for 64-bit Microsoft Windows operating
systems. For more information about and instructions on how to configure
your machines to use WAUS, see the WAUS documentation:
