[Macpartners] Need help with OS 10 laptop, IMAP, and offline usage

I have a clueful user with an OS 10 laptop using Eudora to securely access
his IMAP account.  He wants the ability to make offline changes (delete
mail, etc) on stored messages on his laptop, then, when he resyncs with
his IMAP account, instead of the server pushing updated information to his
laptop, instead, have his laptop upload the updated information to the
server.

Can this reverse functionality of IMAP work?   If so, how?
