<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Invitation to Submit Proposals for the Position of Editor Team has been extended to September 1, 2024, for the </b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><i>Journal of Business Logistics</i></b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b> </b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">As part of its normal editor rotation process the <i>Journal of Business Logistics (JBL)</i> is seeking proposals for the next Editor Team. For <i>JBL</i> to continue to strengthen its position as a top-tier academic journal and a premier
outlet for logistics and supply chain-related academic research, the selection committee strongly believes that there is a benefit for continuing to use a multi-editor team (typically two individuals) to manage the journal. This belief is grounded in the
typical workload (i.e., time and travel) and expectations, as well as the necessary administrative resources, required to publish a high-quality, reputable journal. However, this belief does not preclude sole editor proposals. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The selected Editor Team will serve 4-year terms, a one-year reduction from the current Editor Team tenure. The decision to reduce the term was made in order to make the position more tenable for the potential Editor Team. The appointment
begins on January 1, 2026, however the newly selected Editor Team is expected to work with the current Editor Team during 2025, the transitional year. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The editorial thrust of <i>JBL</i> is focused on articles with a blend of theoretical and practical content related to logistics and supply chain management. The editorial objectives of <i>JBL</i> are to publish articles that provide:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">· new and helpful information about logistics and supply chain management;<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">· discussion and elaboration of existing and emerging theory by and for academicians in logistics, supply chain management, and related disciplines;<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">· discussion and elaboration of existing and emerging research methodological techniques of interest to those who work in logistics and supply chain management, and related professions;<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">· creative views and syntheses of dispersed concepts related to logistics and supply chain management;<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">· coverage of direct and tangential subject areas which have significant current impact on thought and practice in logistics and supply chain management; and<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">· a forum for discussion of key contemporary issues in the areas of business that are related to logistics and the supply chain management.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Eligibility</b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The JBL Editor Team search committee invites active academic researchers with a strong record in publishing refereed research on topics related to logistics and supply chain management to submit a proposal to be the Editor Team of JBL.
Evidence of strong research records include research impact (e.g., citations, downloads, etc.) and research quality (e.g., impact scores of publications). Normally, <i>JBL</i> Editor Teams are made up of tenured faculty members at respected academic institutions.
Members of the Editor Team are expected to have publication records in <i>JBL</i> and a demonstrated commitment to the journal’s historic focus on both logistics and supply chain management. Diversity on the Editor Team with respect to (for example) research
areas, methodological expertise, geographical presence, and gender, is encouraged. Finally, potential Editor Teams should provide evidence of institutional support (e.g., course relief, funding for journal administrators, etc.) for taking over editorial leadership
of <i>JBL</i>.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Expectations</b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The Editor Team is expected to manage all aspects of the editorial process and to work closely with the regional and senior editors, the reviewers, and the publisher (Wiley) to complete issues of <i>JBL</i>. Moreover, the editors are expected
to market <i>JBL</i> to the academic community. This will require activities such as attending major conferences, providing seminars and webinars on publishing in the journal, and representing <i>JBL</i> on various editor panels.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Although workloads will vary during the year, members of the Editor Team may each expect to spend 10-15 hours per week on the journal with an additional 10-20 hours per week required for an editorial assistant. All manuscripts must be carefully
read, reviewed, and edited. Although the publisher may provide limited editorial assistance, the <i>JBL</i> Editor Team will need the help of a skilled editorial assistant to meet the high-quality standards established for the <i>JBL</i>. <o:p></o:p></p>
