Department and Conditions

The Department of Management is part of the School of Economics and Management (TiSEM) at Tilburg University. As a whole, the department consists of 38 tenured or tenure-track faculty members and 13 lecturers. Within the
department, the Information and Supply Chain Management (ISCM) section conducts research in the field of supply chain management and operations management, as well as information management and information systems, from a variety of theoretical and methodological
perspectives. The current members of the department, including its ISCM section, are listed at www.tilburguniversity.edu/mgt. Department members come from leading universities in North America, Asia and Europe. We are a diverse and collegial group of research-oriented
colleagues, including a terrific group of junior and recently hired scholars. The working language of the department and school is English. In addition to bachelor programs, the Department is hosting five Master’s programs. One of them is MSc Supply Chain
Management. In addition, the Department houses two tracks of TiSEM’s Research Master and Ph.D. programs, which prepare researchers for productive academic careers with excellent international placements. The department has a very strong research orientation
with a focus on highquality publications. We aim to maximize the research time available to research-active faculty, and working conditions are otherwise comparable to major research universities in Europe and North America. The teaching load for pre-tenure
faculty is the equivalent of two courses plus guidance of Bachelor and Master’s thesis projects per year (40% teaching time). We expect multiple publications in top journals over the tenure clock. Compensation is competitive with similar schools, and we provide
guaranteed travel and starting research budgets. Faculty moving to the Netherlands may be eligible for 30% tax abatement for a period of five years.
