<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html charset=windows-1252"></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space;">The Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC) – an innovative institute of supply chain research and education founded in 2003 by the Government of Aragon, the University of Zaragoza, industry partners, and the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics – seeks a Director to lead the Center. The ZLC is the European center in MIT's Global Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence (SCALE) Network. There are a number of exciting initiatives underway: <div><div><ul><li>The ZLC has a multi-year partnership through 2025 with the Center for Transportation & Logistics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to co-develop research and education programs.</li><li>Zaragoza has positioned itself as a major logistics hub with initiatives like PLAZA, the largest logistics park in Europe.</li><li>ZLC is strategically located in the heart of PLAZA in order to develop cutting-edge research in a large-scale industrial laboratory.</li><li>ZLC is part of the MIT Global Scale Network, which is an international alliance of leading research centers dedicated to the development of supply chain and logistics excellence through innovation.</li><li>The ZLC faculty is composed of full time professors and part time adjunct professors educated at leading international universities.</li><li>Both Spanish and English programs are offered for master’s and Ph.D. degrees as well as executive education courses leading to certificates. ZLC attracts a highly qualified and diverse body of students in all its educational programs.</li><li>ZLC is working directly with leading global and regional companies on both a strong research agenda and education initiatives. In addition, ZLC is valued contributor and partner in several EU funded research projects.</li><li>ZLC organizes several outreach events throughout the year that brings together leaders from industry, academia, government, and the media to discuss supply chain issues that shape business strategy and public policy.</li></ul> The new director will lead ZLC as it continues to enhance its reputation for excellence in scholarship and teaching and its impact on industry, society and the region of Aragon.<br> <br>The Director of the center serves as the chief academic and executive officer for the Center, reporting to the Board of Directors and working with the university, government, and industry to accomplish the mission of the ZLC. The Director will lead the ZLC through superior teaching and course development, innovative research, and efficient program management. Among the Director’s specific responsibilities are strategic planning, program development, faculty/staff/student development, resource allocation and budget management, research and technology transfer, fund raising, enrollment management, partnership initiatives, and relations with external constituencies.<br> <br><b>Qualifications</b><br>Candidates should possess:<br><ul><li>A doctorate in logistics, supply chain management, engineering, economics, business, or a related discipline;</li><li>Either a record of professional accomplishment that meets the qualifications for the rank of professor in an international research university or a business leadership record which is commensurate with this level of responsibility;</li><li>Significant experience in the field of logistics and supply chain management;</li><li>International exposure, reflected in publications, projects, conference participation and/or guest lectures;</li><li>Evidence of the ability to build strong international relationships with researchers and professionals in academia, industry, and government;</li><li>A demonstrated commitment to the involvement of the ZLC within the region community;</li><li>Ability to generate sponsored research and promote technology transfer and entrepreneurship;</li><li>Experience or willingness to develop fundraising activities;</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to listen, to persuade, and to show appreciation towards the efforts of others;</li><li>Ability to communicate in English and Spanish.
