<h4>50 Influential Articles In Celebration of 50 Years of MIT Press</h4>
<p class="mainText"><img src="http://leonardo.info/images/MITP-50_90.jpg" align="left" border="0">As part of <strong>MIT Press's 50th anniversary celebration</strong>, 50 influential articles published by the Journals division of the MIT Press have been selected based on suggestions from MIT Press journal editors. The selected articles will be freely available through the MIT Press web site until 19 June 2012. Among the selected articles are "The Artist and Advanced Technology" by <strong>Frank Popper</strong> (originally published in <em>Leonardo</em> 28:1, February 1995), "Too Many Notes: Computers, Complexity and Culture in Voyager" by <strong>George Lewis</strong> (originally published in <em>Leonardo Music Journal</em>, Vol. 10, December 2000) and "Nanotechnology: The Endgame of Materialism" by <strong>James K. <h4>Trust Me I'm An Artist - Public Event Series</h4>
<p class="mainText"><img src="http://leonardo.info/images/Olats_art-oriente_cheval_140-border.jpg" align="left" border="none"><strong>Trust Me I’m an Artist: Towards an Ethics of Art/Science Collaboration</strong> is a series of public events led by artist Anna Dumitriu in collaboration with Professor Bobbie Farsides (Chair of Ethics, Brighton and Sussex Medical School), with the support of Waag Society, Leiden University, BioSolar Cells and Leonardo/Olats. The series investigates the new ethical issues arising from art and science collaboration and considers the roles and responsibilities of the artists, scientists and institutions involved. The next event is scheduled for 31 May 2012 and will take place at the Salle des Actes, The École normale supérieure, Paris, France. For this event, <strong>Art Orienté Objet</strong> (Marion Laval-Jeantet & Benoit Mangin) will propose, in front of an audience, their project "Du cheval au panda" to a specially formed ethics committee (following the rules and procedures typical for the host country). <a href="http://www.artscienceethics.com/">Find out more</a></p>

<h4>University of Calabria Evolutionary Systems Group Renews Affiliate Membership</h4>
<p class="mainText"><img src="http://leonardo.info/images/affiliates/UnivCalabria-logo_220.jpg" align="left" border="0"><strong>Evolutionary Systems Group (ESG)</strong>, directed by Pier Augusto Bertacchini, Eleonora Bilotta and Pietro Pantano, is an interdisciplinary group of professors and researchers operating in a broad scientific area characterized by interdisciplinarity. The group operates at the <strong>University of Calabria</strong> (Italy) and aims at promoting scientific exchange and high formation through the Doctoral School "Archimede" in Science, Communication and Technologies; a PhD course in "Psychology of Programming and Artificial Intelligence"; a Laboratory of Psychology; a strong relationship with other PhD courses held at national and international universities; and international projects in collaboration with other universities and research centers (i.e. "Scientific Scenarios and Art" project in the Culture 2007-2013 Programme). <a href="http://leonardo.info/isast/affiliate-members.html">Find out more</a></p>

<h4>Founding Director of the Museum of the Arts and
Sciences, UC Santa Cruz</h4>
<p class="mainText">The Museum of the Arts and Sciences, UC Santa Cruz, is seeking a founding museum director with experience in museum management as well as a proven record of success in development/fundraising. Strategic leadership and planning as well as creativity and vision are essential. Conceived as an ‘institute of creativity and curiosity’ this museum will operate as an intellectual hub for UCSC faculty and students, visiting artists, scholars,
scientists and the public. It will provide flexible space for installations, exhibitions,
performances, research, seminars and events. The arts, humanities, sciences
and social sciences will explore a wide range of topics across the disciplines
using the museum as a focus for their intersection, for example: environmental
research and sustainable design, social justice and film, art and physics,
literature and music. This is a rare opportunity to lead a visionary museum, to participate in its
conception and implementation, and to guide its program and future vision,
working collaboratively and creatively with constituents from the Arts Division and

<h4>The American Society for Cybernetics Conference: An Ecology of Ideas</h4>
The American Society for Cybernetics, working with the Bateson Idea Group, is pleased to announce its joint conference to be held in Asilomar, California, 9 to 13 July 2012. The title of the conference is "An Ecology of Ideas."
