LEONARDO AFFILIATE PROGRAM
NEW DIRECTIONS AND BENEFITS
The Leonardo Affiliate Program is a growing community of leading  
universities, nonprofits and corporations engaged in research and  
creative activities at the intersection of the arts, sciences and  
technology. Organizations may now participate in the Leonardo  
Affiliate Program at the Affiliate or Senior Affiliate level, which  
includes increased benefits and value. Leonardo Affiliates are now  
able to propose, plan and implement new Leonardo programs, events and  
projects; pursue joint funding and collaborative research and  
creative activities; present the research and creative work of  
faculty and students in Leonardo publications and more. Leonardo  
Affiliates are key partners in shaping the direction of Leonardo/ 
ISAST and the future of Art/Science. We invite organizations to join  
the Leonardo Affiliate Program as we embark on a new era of

LMJ EDITORIAL BOARD WELCOMES NEW MEMBERS
Leonardo Music Journal welcomes four new members to the LMJ Editorial  
Board: Christoph Cox, Yan Jun, Andrea Polli and Tara Rodgers, who  
have been enlisted to help bring expertise in emerging areas of sound  
work, such as Phonography, Sound Art, Circuit Bending, Experimental  
Pop Music, and Sonification, while also extending the journal's reach  
into new communities, voices and viewpoints. LMJ Editor in Chief  
Nicolas Collins expressed his gratitude for the many years of  
valuable support of LMJ Founder and Board Member Larry Polansky, and  
LMJ Editorial Board Members Jody Diamond, Marc Battier and Ricardo  
dal Farra, who are stepping down from their posts this year. Find out

JOURNAL ARTICLES NOW AVAILABLE PRE-PUBLICATION THROUGH EARLY ACCESS  
SYSTEM
Leonardo is pleased to announce a new early access publication  
service through MIT Press by which accepted Leonardo and Leonardo  
Music Journal articles are made available to subscribers after  
successful completion of peer review but prior to their publication  
in print. Leonardo publications are being restructured to be web  
centric and to accelerate the distribution of reliable peer-reviewed  
articles. Professionals in the art, science, technology field -- both  
authors and readers -- will benefit from this early access program of  
accepted articles. Articles forthcoming in Leonardo 45:2 are now  
available to subscribers on the MIT Press web site.

PANEL DISCUSSION: "THEN AND NOW: CIRCA 1980-2012+"
29 FEBRUARY 2012, SAN FRANCISCO STATE UNIVERSITY
A panel discussion, "Then and Now: Circa 1980-2012+," in association  
with the exhibition "SmARTspace at the Intersection of Art and  
Technology" (conceived by the late Steve Wilson) will feature  
Leonardo Executive Editor Roger Malina along with Ken Goldberg, Gail  
Wight and former Leonardo Board Member Meredith Tromble. Find out more

In August 2011 Helen and Newton Harrison received approval to  
establish the Center for Force Majeure Studies on the campus of UC  
Santa Cruz. Their accepted proposal is provided as supplemental

Harrisons: Talking and Remembering," an interview between the

MORPHONANO marks a decade of an artistic collaboration (2002-2012) of  
media artist Victoria Vesna and nanoscientist James Gimzewski. Their  
work is focused on the idea of change and consciousness at the  
intersection of space-time and embodiment. Participants interact with  
the works in mindful ways, resulting in rich visual and sonic  
experiences within a meditative space. By reversing the scale of  
nanotechnology to the realm of human experience, the artist and
