LEONARDO SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
THE 1ST INTERNATIONAL MASTER IN MEDIA-ART-HISTORIES
Leonardo/ISAST and the Department for Image Science (Danube  
University) are pleased to announce their new cooperative effort: a  
half-tuition scholarship for the Master of Arts (MA) course in  
MediaArtHistories, with a start date of May 2010! Through supporting  
the studies of a new researcher or artist, the scholarship is  
directed toward the goal of answering the critical challenges of the  
21st century, which require mobilization and cross-fertilization  
among the domains of art, science and technology. Application  
deadline is March 29, 2010. Find out more

GLOBAL WARNING
ARTISTS, SCIENTISTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVISM
The GLOBAL WARNING symposium, organized by ZER01: The Art and  
Technology Network, the City of San Jose Public Art Program and CADRE  
Laboratory for New Media at San Jose State University in  
collaboration with LEONARDO/ISAST, with additional support from the  
Montalvo Arts Center, will be held September 16–17, 2010, in  
conjunction with the 3rd 01SJ Biennial in San Jose, CA.This two-day  
symposium will examine the interconnectedness of ideas and actions  
and the current relationships between art-making, science and  
ecology. A group of distinguished artists, scientists and policy- 
makers will present and examine case studies of collaborative  
environmental art projects. Symposium participants will be invited to  
help advance this crossdisciplinary enterprise through their active  
involvement in the dialogue. Find out more

RENEWS AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP
Leonardo/ISAST is pleased to announce that the Media Arts and  
Technology (MAT) Department at UC Santa Barbara has renewed its  
membership in the Leonardo Affiliate Membership program. MAT is a  
transdisciplinary graduate program that fuses emergent media,  
computer science, engineering, electronic music, digital art  
research, practice, production and theory. Created by faculty in both  
the College of Engineering and the College of Letters and Science,
