Introducing the Leonardo Network Newsletter
We are pleased to introduce the new bi-weekly email newsletter of the  
Leonardo Network. This free newsletter is designed to keep you  
informed about all the projects, publications, events and activities  
of the Leonardo Network, all in a compact newsletter sent to you via  
email twice monthly. The "FIND OUT MORE" links at the end of each

Next LASER: November 10, 2008
Leonardo Art Science Evening Rendezvous (LASER) is a bimonthly series  
of lectures and presentations on art, science and technology  
organized by Piero Scaruffi on behalf of Leonardo/ISAST. Join us for  
another exciting LASER with presentations by Frank Pietronigro  
("Humanities and Culture in Space"); Hassan Elahi ("Tracking  
Transience: The Orwell Project"), Nomi Talisman ("Cultural Objects  
and their Relationship to Everyday Life") and Sam Bower ("Rebuilding

The Leonardo Space and the Arts Working Group
The Leonardo Space Art Project (sponsored by Leonardo/Olats) aims to  
make visible the work of artists, writers, composers and others  
interested in the exploration of outer space and aims to help  
establish contact between artists, scientists and engineers  
interested in working together on space art projects. To keep up to  
date with the Space and the Arts Working Group sign up on the new

Leonardo Abstracts Service (LABS)
The Leonardo Abstracts Service (LABS) is a developing comprehensive  
database of thesis abstracts (Ph.D., Masters and MFA) in the emerging  
intersection between art, science and technology. Leonardo/ISAST is  
pleased to announce the top-rated authors of abstracts published in  
the English-language database during the first half of 2008. The top- 
rated abstracts were written by Jack Stenner, Martha Blassnigg,  
Nicholas A. Knouf, Newton Armstrong, Nicholas Mark Collins, Gayil

Leonardo Journal
Call for Papers: Re-imagining the Moon: Leonardo Journal seeks  
articles from a variety of disciplines exploring various social and  
cultural aspects related to the moon as well as those that engage  
with the relation between the moon and the artistic and scientific

Leonardo Reviews
Leonardo Reviews is the work of an international panel of scholars  
and professionals invited from a wide range of disciplines to review  
books, exhibitions, CD-ROMs, Web sites, and conferences. New reviews

Jardine, Amy Ione, Kathryn Adams, Chris Speed, Jan Baetens, Allan

SFSU International Center for the Arts Joins Leonardo Affiliate  
Membership Program
The International Center for the Arts of San Francisco State  
University is the newest member of Leonardo's Affiliate Membership  
Program (previously, the Leonardo Organizational Membership Program).  
The International Center for the Arts is a creative, research and  
producing organization that operates within the College of Creative  
Arts at San Francisco State University. Founded in 2005 with a  
generous grant from SF State Alumni George and Judy Marcus, the ICA  
is focused on the future of the arts with an emphasis on providing  
incubator experiences for gifted artists in the performing, media,  
and visual arts and through interdisciplinary projects that link the  
arts to their creative counterparts in the humanities, sciences,
