Dr. Bruneau is trying to better understand the role of psychology in group identity. In this talk, he will discuss some of the results from studies that he has conducted with Palestinians and Israelis in the Middle East, and in other regions of conflict. Gazing at the conflict through a scientific lens, Dr. Bruneau will address some of the psychological forces at play in the context of intergroup conflict, and how issues of identity, dominance and power may shape these forces.</span></font></div>

</font><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; ">Elinor, a postdoctoral fellow at the psychology department at Harvard University and a human rights activist, gives us a historical review and analysis of the conflict. <br>
And Noam, an Israeli currently begining his BA at Brandeis Univeristy, where he is a member of the Brandeis Students for Justice in Palestine group. Noam will speak about the joint struggle of Palestinians and Israelis against the separation wall and about the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions Movement from his perspective as a member of the Israeli group Boycott from Within (<a href="http://boycottisrael.info/" target="_blank" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 204); ">http://boycottisrael.info/</a>). <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; ">Screening of<b> "With God On Our Side"</b> (</span><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; "><a href="http://withgodonourside.com/">http://withgodonourside.com/</a>), which takes a look at the theology of Christian Zionism, and its aspects that lead some Christians in the West to give uncritical support to Israeli government policies, even those that privilege Jews at the expense of Palestinians, leading to a great suffering among Muslim and Christian Palestinians alike and threatening the security of Israel. </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: separate; "><font class="Apple-style-span" face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">This film demonstrates that there is a biblical alternative for Christians who want to love and support the people of Israel, a theology that doesn't favor one people group over another but instead promotes peace and reconciliation for both Jews and Palestinians.</font></span></div>
