for Near Eastern Affairs in the U.S. Department of State (1997-2000).<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Garamond","serif"">Before entering the U.S. government, Indyk was founding executive director of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy for eight years. He currently
serves as Chairman of the International Council of the New Israel Fund and on the boards of the Lowy Institute for International Policy (Australia) and the Institute for National Security Studies (Israel). He is the author of
<i>Innocent Abroad: An Intimate Account of American Peace Diplomacy in the Middle East</i>, which was published by Simon and Schuster in January 2009.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
