[krbdev.mit.edu #5595] Problems with kpasswd and an IPv6 enviroment

I can confirm at least the symptoms.

I had been receiving this error despite everything appearing correct in 
my system setup:

[jamie at janeiro ~]$ kpasswd 
Password for jamie at example.com 
Enter new password: 
Enter it again: 
Server error: Failed decrypting request 
[jamie at janeiro ~]$ 

(I was trying this on the host that provides the kerberos service)

Removing the line:

::1    janeiro.example.com janeiro

from /etc/hosts solved my problem and now both kpasswd and passwd 
changed passwords successfully.

This is on Fedora Core 7 with the krb packages:
