Beata:

It is not intentional.  The input field is simply not flagged to permit
horizontal scrolling.  In other words the ES_AUTOHSCROLL flag is not set
on the EDIT control. 

This has been fixed on the trunk and will be fixed in KFW 3.2.2 Beta 1.
