<p class=""><strong class="">Mellon Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Science & Technology Studies</strong></p>
<p class="">The Science & Technology Studies Program at Williams College invites applications for a two-year Mellon postdoctoral fellowship in Science & Technology Studies (STS), beginning July 1, 2020. We welcome applications from candidates who have completed
their PhD within the last five years and also those who have not yet completed their PhD, but will have the PhD in hand by the start date of the appointment. </p>
<p class="">We seek candidates who can contribute to the curriculum and vitality of our interdisciplinary program through research and teaching that illuminates the imbrication of science and technology with society. Candidates might have expertise in any number
of disciplinary approaches so long as they have significant training in STS theory and research methods.</p>
<p class="">The position requires vision, initiative, and an interest in participating in our vibrant community of scholars, practitioners, and educators. We especially welcome applications from groups traditionally underrepresented in the academy. Williams
is an institution that places a high value on undergraduate teaching; consequently, we strongly prefer applicants who can demonstrate a capacity for excellent teaching and a commitment to working effectively with a student population that is broadly diverse
with regard to gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religious views, socio-economic status, and more. </p>
<p class="">The successful candidate will be appointed full-time for a term of two years and will have a teaching load of one course each semester. The salary for this position is $55,000 per year. The fellow will also be provided with full benefits including
health and dental insurance, plus an allowance of $3,000 per year for research and professional travel. This position is made possible by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.</p>
