or early associate professor appointment to begin in September 2017. <b class="">
We are interested in scholars whose research addresses politics and processes of racialization and ethnic formation in North America from an anthropological perspective.</b> Potential topics of interest include, but are not limited to: new approaches to and
theories about diversity; democratic participation and the politics of care; media and expressive culture; political economy and inequality; environmental racism and health disparities; policing, surveillance, and incarceration; civil rights and related social
movements; and intersections of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and class. Depth of ethnographic knowledge and the ability to address questions of theoretical and comparative significance will be crucial.
