<div style="margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px"><span style="font-size:10pt; font-family:Times">The Center of the American West is now offering a fellowship for a person with a recent Ph.D., specializing in Western American Studies and interested in experimenting
with the enterprise of bringing scholarly understandings to a wider audience. </span></div>
<div style="margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px"><span style="font-size:10pt; font-family:Times">As you know, concern about the future of the discipline of history in higher education has been mounting. The Center’s fellowship takes that concern head-on, offering
a chance for a talented scholar to become immersed in our world of “applied history” and to find her or his own “voice” for public communications. Equally important, our Visiting Fellow will gain practice in the pursuit of funding to support enterprises in
bringing historical perspective to bear on current Western dilemmas.</span></div>
<div style="margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px"><span style="font-size:10pt; font-family:Times">A successful candidate for this position will sharpen existing skills and cultivate new ones in a way that will make navigation in the changing world of the profession
