<br>An innovative new Arts and Education project, “Creating a Community for Women Graduate Students in STEM,” led by MIT alums, pairs the work of an NYC-based professional theater company with a diversity workshop. This project was launched in New York City in 2018, sponsored by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.<br> <br>We are seeking Student Outreach Specialists for phase two of the project, which will take place on the MIT campus in April 2019, sponsored by the MIT School of Science. This is fun and enjoyable opportunity for outgoing and friendly students to foster an additional network of support for students in the MIT community, especially with regard to diversity and inclusion. Your work will also help lay the groundwork for future programs of this sort for students nationwide. Students will work closely with our team, based in NYC and Boston, to do outreach to student groups in person and online. This position also includes opportunities to connect with national authorities in diversity issues, and to interface with leaders in the performing arts.<br> <br>Applicants must be current undergraduate or graduate students, friendly, communication-savvy, detail-oriented, and able to work independently. STEM majors or STEM grad students preferred. Part-time commitment of 10 hours/week starting immediately and continuing through April 19, 2019, with possibility to extend.
