Once centered, participants will incorporate photojournalistic imagery to create a small 3D artifact, representative of the political or social concern of their choice. The working topic for the 2018 Wasserman Forum will be Future Genders and looking at how gender identity is being addressed by artists today. The List Center is seeking a candidate that has a demonstrated interest in gender issues as they are presented through contemporary visual arts. The Wasserman Forum Assistant will work in conjunction with the List Center Staff in conceptualizing the panels for the Forum, and undertake organizational duties such as and not limited to speaker contracts, obtaining and editing speaker bios, handling travel needs, assisting in all aspects of hospitality for Forum participants, preparing press materials, coordinating volunteers for the Forum, and determining and ordering all amenities for the event. The Wasserman Forum Assistant will also be expected to be on hand for the entire duration of the forum planned for November 2018. This position will report to Emily Garner, Campus and Public Program Coordinator.<br>

This is a part-time one-year stipend position and not an MIT benefited employee. The hours of the position will gradually increase as the timeline approaches the date of the event.<br>

The grant is for development projects or projects benefiting low-income populations. Examples of relevant challenges may include but are not limited to:<br>
- Economically appropriate water purification technologies, esp. for rural areas<br>
- Water distribution and management strategies, esp. for rural areas<br>
- Other water quality issues, e.g. sanitation, monitoring, etc.<br>
- Food safety issues<br>
- Food preservation and waste reduction<br>
- Water for agriculture, especially smallholder farms<br>
- Agricultural innovations and improvements<br><br>
