Program Assistants (PAs):<br>
• Work as team and with the MSRP staff to provide mentorship outside of the lab and facilitate a positive summer experience for undergraduate summer research interns.<br>
• Participate with a time commitment of 20 hours per week from June 4 to August 6, 2017.<br>
• Receive a $5,000 stipend for 10 weeks (9 week program + training/meetings), paid weekly.<br>
MSRP is a 9-week summer research experience for talented, underrepresented minority and underserved undergraduate students from other institutions who might benefit from spending a summer on MIT’s campus conducting research and participating in academic, professional development, and community building events and activities. Whether it's the reaction induced between two creative contraptions or the joyful reactions sparked on the faces of spectators, the MIT Museum's Friday After Thanksgiving (F.A.T.) Chain Reaction is a one-of-a-kind engineering feat that must be seen to be believed!<br>
This year's theme is symmetry for our 19th (XIX) chain reaction, and artists Arthur Ganson and Jeff Lieberman will mastermind the choreography of this Rube Goldberg machine, assisted by teams and participants who range from Girl Scout troops and school groups to artists and engineers. Spectators can meet the teams and engage in themed hands-on activities while waiting for the magic moment when all the machines are linked up to set off a chain reaction with a surprise ending.</span><br>
