The Scientista Intercollegiate Research<br>
Symposium is a one-day event that brings female graduate and undergraduate students together from across the country to listen to inspirational talks, including a keynote from science celebrity.<br>

The year 2014 marks 100 years of aerospace studies at the Institute, and the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics is celebrating through a Centennial Seminar Series.<br>

Throughout the Cambridge Science Festival, the MIT Museum in collaboration with the City of Cambridge, community organizations, schools, universities, and businesses hosts a range of performances, discussions, and workshops and activities. Some of the events
will focus on Space Day, Printing 3D Ships, and Science You Can Eat.<br>

Chancellor Barnhart will be hosting a series of intimate listening sessions over lunch that will help the MIT community understand how sexual assault happens here and what we can do to respond to and prevent these instances. Information shared will help to
shape the recommendations and policy regarding sexual assault in our community. All experiences and backgrounds are valuable in this conversation, and there will be emotional support from Violence Prevention & Response on hand for anyone who may need it. If

<br>
Dr. Cathy Wu is Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. She received her MD from Stanford University School of Medicine in 1994. She completed postgraduate training in internal medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, followed by a fellowship
in medical oncology and hematology at Dana-Farber/Partners CancerCare. In 2000, she joined Dana-Farber where her laboratory focuses on dissecting the underlying mechanisms of pathobiology of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). She has been the principal investigator
of several center-initiated clinical trials. Other ongoing studies in her laboratory focus on systematic analyses to couple tumor genotype with phenotype, understanding CLL tumor heterogeneity, and mechanistic studies of novel CLL driver genes. In addition,
Dr. Wu's husband Dr. Nir Hacohen is also a professor at Harvard Medical School with a laboratory at the MassachusettsG eneral Hospital and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. Dr. Wu and Dr. Hacohen have 3 children.<br>

Do you think it is important for good science and evidence to be communicated to the public? What can be done to address scientific misconceptions and misinformation? Journalists and scientists will share insights on working with the media.We will share case
studies and experiences of people Asking for Evidence behind claims in policy, media and advertising.<br>

This free evening event runs from 5.30 to 7.30pm and includes pizza served in the break. It's open to everyone: the public, students, communicators, early career researchers, scientists, engineers and medics.<br>
