<font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><div style="margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px">The Transportation@MIT initiative and the MIT Transportation Club are pleased to present a talk by transportation innovator and entrepreneur (and MIT alumna) Robin Chase.  Robin Chase is founder and CEO of GoLoco, an online ridesharing community. She also founded and leads Meadow Networks, a consulting firm that advises city, state, and federal government agencies about wireless applications in the transportation sector, and impacts on innovation and economic development. Robin is also founder and former CEO of Zipcar, the largest car sharing company in the world. She is on the Board of the World Resources Institute, the US Secretary of Commerce’s National Advisory Committee for Innovation &amp; Entrepreneurship, and the US Department of Transportation’s Intelligent Transportation Systems Program Advisory Committee. She served on the World Economic Forum Future of Transportation Council, the Massachusetts Governor’s Transportation transition team, and the Boston Mayor’s Wireless Task Force.</div>

<br>Friday 10:00am - 1:00pm<br>Women Innovators today …<br>We will hear from women using new technologies and innovations in their careers. Our keynote speaker is Angela Belcher, the W.M. Keck Professor of Energy at MIT. Dr. Belcher does innovative research that address many pressing problems we face today…how to make safe, non-hazardous batteries that are more energy dense than those currently on the market? How can we engineer viruses and bacteria to capture excess CO2 and convert it into building materials? Can we use self-assembly viruses that have been genetically engineered to provide a safe, cheap alternative for photovoltaic technology?  We will hear from other inspiring women, in different careers who are taking on the challenges of science and technology today.  The day will also include a panel discussion group.<br>
